Mr. Merab Kadjaia serves as the Deputy Head of the Transport and Logistics Development Policy Department at Georgia’s Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development. A maritime lawyer by profession, with a strong background in European integration processes, he has been actively involved in shaping and advancing Georgia’s transport and logistics policy framework.
With over a decade of professional experience, Mr. Kadjaia began his career at the Maritime Transport Agency of Georgia and later continued his work at the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development. Throughout his career, he has played an active role in initiatives aimed at modernizing Georgia’s transport sector and aligning national legislation and policies with European and international standards.
He has contributed to the development and implementation of numerous strategic projects and policy initiatives designed to strengthen Georgia’s connectivity, enhance multimodal transport links, and reinforce the country’s role as a reliable transit and logistics hub connecting Europe, the Caucasus, and Central Asia. His work focuses in particular on transport policy development, legal alignment with international and EU frameworks, and the promotion of international cooperation in the field of transport and logistics.
