About me
Jemal Zabakidze has been serving as Deputy Chairman of the Roads Department of Georgia since October 2025. He has extensive experience in international projects, economic policy, and international cooperation. Prior to joining the Roads Department, he served as International Projects Manager at JSC Georgian State Electrosystem (2023–2025), Advisor to the General Director of JSC ESCO – Electricity Market Operator, and Senior Specialist at the Department of Foreign Trade Policy of the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia.
From 2020 to 2022, Mr. Zabakidze worked at the Embassy of Georgia to the Republic of Austria as Consultant for Consular and Bilateral Relations. He has also contributed to World Bank and SIDA-supported projects as Project Assistant and Project Officer.
Mr. Zabakidze holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Politics, and Social Thought from Bard College Berlin and a Master’s degree in Global Economic Relations from Central European University (CEU). He is fluent in English, German, and Russian.
